Fencha was created when three kindred spirits met for a cup of green tea in London’s Camden district.

Fencha is the culmination of my 15-year exploration of tea, together with 45 years of my family’s pioneering service in the UK’s Chinese medicine community. Tea is natural energy. If you’ve tasted Japanese matcha green tea, you’ll enjoy Fencha. Powdered tea is a wonderful, natural organic energy drink that does not overdose on sugar, caffeine or artificial stimulants. Matcha is full of antioxidants and a good source of slow caffeine release – but Fencha has all the benefits of matcha, plus more! I love innovating and Fencha brings together the ancient traditions of tea-making with a twist of modern convenience.

I love Fencha and got involved because I’m a big fan of natural, organic plant-based products that don’t use artificial ingredients or sugar (or sugar substitutes) and aren’t full of stimulants I’ve never heard of. Fencha is natural, plain and simple. We’ve taken high-altitude organic tea, combined it with a lovely ginseng root (huge in Asia) and made it easy to enjoy. Along the way, we got to know lots of interesting people who love good food, natural organic stuff, and innovation. What a journey!

After meeting Don and Michael, I discovered the wonderful world of pure single estate teas (those that aren’t grown on massive industrial estates). There are literally thousands of varieties of teas, and their qualities depend on the grower, the farm, the altitude, and so on – just like wines. I’m generally busy travelling, working, playing music – the days seem to fly! What appealed to me about Fencha is that it is convenient, I really enjoy drinking it in the morning, and the science behind the ingredients is fascinating.
